Waltham Forest needs you

To become a foster carer

We understand that it can be heartbreaking when children are unable to stay with their birth families, leading to the need for foster carers. As a community, we must come together to ensure that these children are placed in the best possible homes where they will be loved, nurtured, and have the opportunity to thrive. Would you be interested in joining us on this journey to provide hope, stability, and a brighter future for these children in need?

If you’re looking to make a real difference in your community, consider becoming a foster carer. The GLF is on a mission to recruit 15 new fostering families in London, including Waltham Forest, where there’s currently a shortage of carers. By opening up your home to a local child, you can provide crucial support when it’s needed most.

As a GLF foster carer, you’ll receive comprehensive 24/7 support. We also offer financial support to help cover the costs of caring for a child, with ongoing weekly payments that provide a certain level of consistency for our carers. Our current payment rates range from £450-£1600 per week, depending on the needs of the children in your care.

We asked our carer Jacqui, what's the best thing about fostering?

Each day brings a new adventure; I'm never bored, and that's what makes it the best. Unlike raising your own children, this work demands ingenuity in facing new challenges every day.
