We recognize that it’s unfortunate that children are unable to live with their biological families and require foster families instead. Nonetheless, since this is the reality, we have a duty to seek out the most suitable homes for them. Would you be willing to provide assistance?
In Hackney, there’s currently a shortage of foster carers, which extends to the entirety of London. Our mission is to make a difference by recruiting 15 new fostering families who can provide homes for local children, avoiding the need to relocate them. To learn more and get involved, download our comprehensive guide to fostering or give us a call at 0208 347 8741.
Our GLF foster carers receive ongoing, 24/7 support as well as financial assistance. The fostering payment includes both child care costs and a reward element. We strive to keep things simple by providing a fixed weekly fee, rather than one-off payments for things like birthdays. The following payment amounts are currently paid to GLF carers:
– £450 to care for 0-10-year-olds
– £475 to care for 11-year-olds and above
– Between £550-1600 for more complex or specialized children who require enhanced care.
We asked our carer Jacqui, what's the best thing about fostering?
Where in Hackney are we looking for carers?
Undoubtedly, fostering raises a plethora of questions.
We’re fortunate to have a wealth of experience which we use to answer your questions candidly. We’d be delighted to have a casual conversation about fostering – whether it suits you and what you can expect.
Why not plan a brief, 15-minute chat? We guarantee it’ll save you hours of scouring the internet, and besides, we love nothing more than talking about fostering with people.
